Executive Summary about Cycling Mountain Bikes by Necky Effendi

Cycling Mountain Bikes refers to biking on dirt roads, trails in parks, or unpaved surfaces. Joe Breeze, Gary Fisher, Charlie Cunningham, Keith Bontrager, and Tom Ritchey were considered as the founding fathers of Cycling Mountain Bikes, which started in California in the 1970s.

More than 30 years later, Cycling Mountain Bikes has undergone a lot of changes in its various aspects – from the emergence of different models of mountain bikes and establishment of various events and biking competitions, to development of numerous disciplines. To date, there are a lot of Mountain Biking variations which are enjoyed by thousands of enthusiasts every year. Some of these include downhill Mountain Bike, cross-country racing, dirt jumping, and freeride Mountain Bike. Each discipline requires a specially designed mountain bike as well as mastery in bike-handling skills.

For adventurous bikers and those who have the need for speed, Cycling Mountain Bikes competitions surely have what you are looking for.

As Cycling Mountain Bikes gets more and more popular, gear manufacturers are constantly at work, trying to come up with state-of-the-art bike designs and high-quality pieces of equipment and devices that will meet the demands of every rider. Unlike bicycles used in road cycling, mountain bikes usually have smaller frames, wider tires, larger system of gears, and front and/or rear suspension. Aside from the mountain bike, other pieces of equipment needed in Cycling Mountain Bikes are clothes which provide comfort and can keep the biker warm and dry, gloves for hand protection, and helmet, the safety gear that you cannot go Cycling Mountain Bikes without.

Since Cycling Mountain Bikes is usually done on off-road trails, each mountain biker should practice self-discipline and follow the Rules of the Trail, a set of widely-recognized guidelines formulated by the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA).

USA Cycling Mountain Bike Calendar

The calendar has 53 events in 3 categories (cross-country, gravity, and ultra-endurance) and gives pro mountain bikers the chance to earn points toward an overall title to be awarded at the end of the season. I’m kind surprised nothing like this existed before but it really adds excitement to the race season and helps get people pumped for local races.

If you plan on participating in one of the 53 events you can look forward to excellent event management and quality events (at least according to USA Cycling). This is definitely a step in the right direction, event consistency is an issue mountain bike racers face in choosing races.

The cross country races include the Sea Otter Classic along with other notable races like the Snowshoe MTB Festival in West Virginia. Cross country races are given category ratings (large races like Sea Otter and Snowshoe are category-1) from 1 to 4 and points are awarded accordingly.

Teaching Your Kids to Ride Mountain Bike

Executive Summary about Mountain Bike by Paul Kramer

Kids at every age love to copy parents. From the age of 2 to 12 they just adore to pretend that they are grown up. Those parents who are a part of the mountain bike community find their kids always ready to learn the tricks of the sport. What is important to for you to know is when is the right time for your kid to get into this sport and who you should go about it.

The first thing is to understand is that a kid may be eager to learn it even before he or she can learn to balance a two wheeler from seeing you but mountain biking is a serious thing unlike paddling a BMX in your driveway. Make sure your child has developed his muscles well and can do all the exercises that you do to maintain you muscle power for this sport.

Getting your kid his first mountain bike should be a well thought purchase. A cheap inexpensive model may cost you higher in the longer run or may need you kid to exert more than required. Remember that smaller the wheels are more force they would require to paddle and keep up with your 26 inch bike. Never compromise on the safety gear. These should be the best to ensure your kid’s protection.

Demonstrate everything to your child first and then let him try it. Remember, always stay close, preferably dismounted when your kid it trying out a new thing for the first time, just to be ready for an eventuality.
Let your child learn at his own pace till he is perfect, don’t rush up to get to the difficult things, rather stay on the easier trails till you are sure that he is ready for the next level.

The most important thing is, never let him out of your sight on the trail. If he lags behind, stop and let him come closer. A child who lags behind unattended will tend to get rash to stay near you. Remember safety comes first.

The Real Mountain Bike Action

Like me there are millions of people around the world who just love to watch thrilling adventure sports competitions. Most of my viewing is on TV where I get to watch many sporting events on sports channels. My all time favorite is the free ride mountain bike events.

I drive out to a nearby mountain bike park and watch it all live. The easiest way to find a park with all the mountain bike action is to contact a bike dealer in your area and find out the location of the nearby parks. That is another source of watching the action if you don’t have a park close by. Other sites social sites are full of such video clips which are great to watch

Virtual and Real Mountain Bike Games – What You Should Know About It

The sport for the thrill seekers and the outdoor adventure lovers has made its way to the desktops of those who love to live risk free virtual lives. These games also work in the reverse sequence. If you are a real biking enthusiast, you can learn a few tricks from playing these online games and understand certain moves involved in the actual sport, which otherwise are only known by the professionals.

These games are actually bringing the real life adventure experience to those who do love these sports but are not fortunate enough in terms of availability of time and or space to go out and practice this daring sport.
